Ballet Hispánico's Junior Summer Intensive challenges young dancers to strengthen their technique and develop skills for the professional dance world.
Ballet Hispánico’s NEW pre-professional Junior Summer Intensive challenges students to develop their versatility by strengthening their Ballet, Spanish Dance, and Modern dance techniques. With an emphasis on holistic dance training, this summer intensive will develop the students’ artistic skills through specialized forums and a rigorous schedule of diverse class offerings.
Classes include:
Ballet, Pre-Pointe & Pointe, Modern (Afro-Caribbean, Graham, or Limón), Jazz, Musical Theater, Dance History and Stretch & Conditioning.
Plus
Spanish Dance series featuring world class guest faculty, Hip-Hop Master Classes, and more.
Students must first audition, be accepted into the program or be awarded a Junior Summer Intensive scholarship in order to register. In-person audition registration opens December 1, 2023.

What to bring for the Junior Summer Intensive
- Snacks (Nuts and snacks containing nuts are prohibited)
- Non-Glass Water Bottle
- Street Shoes (For outside of studios and common areas)
Dress Code
Female-Identifying
- Base (All Classes)
- Any style, any solid color leotard
- Hair secured neatly away from face; no loose hair
- No jewelrey; studs that do not hang past the earlobe or go under the earlobe are permitted
- Optional Warm-Ups: If the studio is cold, black fitted warm-ups or BH branded items and sweatpants are permitted for the first 10-minutes of class.
- Ballet & Pre-Pointe/Pointe
- Flesh tone transition tights
- Flesh tone ballet and pointe shoes (pointe shoes are ONLY permitted for students with prior pointe experience)
- Any color wrap skirt or Corps Dancewear Milliskin Pull-On or Chiffon Pull-on Circle Skirt (optional)
- Spanish Dance
- Black flamenco/character ankle length skirt
- Any color flamenco shoes (black character shoes permissable)
- Castanets
- Contemporary Forms and Stretch & Conditioning
- Black or flesh toned convertible tights (black transition tights worn over leotard)
- Bare feet
- Additional Recommended Dancwear and Footwear: sneakers and sweatpants, (hip-hop), socks (contemporary), ballroom/character shoes (salsa), and jazz shoes (jazz; lyrical)
- Additional Recommended Items: yoga mat, stretch bands, and knee pads
