In her new work, Mexican American choreographer, Michelle Manzanales, explores the life and legacy of the iconic 17th-century Mexican feminist, poet, scholar, and nun, Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz. Sor Juana’s life and integral voice in the feminist movement continue to inspire the world.

What interest have you, world, in persecuting me?

Wherein do I offend you, when all I want

Is to give beauty to my mind

And not my mind to beautiful things?

— Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz
